Joe Quinones

Founder and Managing Partner, Obara Realty Group.

Joe Quinones is the founder and Managing Partner of Obara Realty Group. He has over 20 years’ experience in investing in and developing real estate. Joe’s specialty is investment and development in distressed and emerging neighborhoods and has spent his career operating in underserved communities. Prior to founding the Obara Realty Group, he served as the Chief Operating Officer of Primrose Development Company in Lagos, Nigeria.

At Primrose, Joe took the organization from its startup stage and scaled up its capabilities to enable it to develop its milestone project, the $120M office tower Heritage Place. Prior to Primrose, Joe was the founding partner of CityLife Property Development and Management, an urban real estate and investment company.

Joe holds an MBA in real estate and finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Temple University (with concentrations in international business administration and accounting). For the past 27 years, Joe has been a tireless community activist who has used business as a platform for creating social change in his community.



Jason Williams

Managing Partner, A&A General Contracting

Jason Williams is a senior construction and development project manager. In his most recent assignment at Jones Lang Lasalle (JLL), he led the execution and deployment of industrial projects for clients throughout the United States. Jason has 16 years of construction project execution experience on a variety of project types including heavy civil infrastructure, industrial process manufacturing, K-12, and higher education facilities. This platform enables Jason to offer valuable experience and insight into all facets of construction execution from conceptual pricing and schedule creation to a detailed understanding of construction means and methods for the most complex of client projects.

Jason brings with him extensive knowledge in the execution and construction of ground up facilities and also has extensive experience with managing project cost and budget controls, estimation and scheduling.

Jason holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University, a Master’s of Science in Construction Management from Stephens Institute of Technology, and an MBA from Emory University in real estate development.



Kevin Holmes

Partner, Obara Realty Group

Kevin has over 27 years’ experience as real estate professional and is a commercial real estate brokerage and advisory professional that has successfully built a real estate portfolio valued at over 3 million dollars.

Kevin provides advisory and consulting services across the range of commercial real estate activity, including strategic and opportunity assessments, marketing, business development and private placements (debt and equity).

Mr. Holmes has an MBA in Entrepreneurship and Marketing from the EIBC School of the University of Pennsylvania and has a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from Howard University.



Gbenga Olaniyan

Founder and Managing Partner, Estate Links

Gbenga Olaniyan is a qualified estate surveyor, valuer and real estate consultant with over 27 years’ experience in the profession. He is the Principal Partner of Gbenga Olaniyan & Associates (Estate Surveyors & Valuers) and the Founder and Board Chairman of Estate Links Limited (International real estate Consultants). Over the past 20 years, Mr. Olaniyan has grown Estate Links into a truly international real estate practice with offices in Surrey, England; Johannesburg, South Africa and in the USA. Gbenga is regularly invited to corporate events to speak on real estate and construction.

A graduate of the University of Lagos, Nigeria, with a B.Sc. (Hons) Estate Management in 1987, Gbenga has attended several executive courses over the years including the Lagos Business School for the chief executive program, the University of Liverpool for his MBA and the Harvard Business

Funlayo E. Wood, PhD

Assistant Property Manager and Executive Assistant

Funlayo E. Wood is a scholar of African and African American studies and a client services specialist of over 15 years. Funlayo’s extensive experience includes technical and journalistic writing, business consulting, customer relations, social media marketing, and property management and she approaches each of these with dedication to serving her clients’ needs and best interests employing sound research and best practices.

Funlayo holds a PhD from Harvard University and an MA from the City College of New York and has lectured at institutions including Harvard University, Boston College, the Boston Public Library, and the City University of New York. A strong believer in public education she is a regular public speaker, a frequent radio guest, and has appeared in documentaries for PBS and the National Geographic channel.

In her capacity with Obara, Funlayo is excited to contribute to community revitalization and the continued development of up-and-coming urban areas while retaining and fostering their unique character.
